Chapter tests will cover chapter material, and will usually contain a listening, reading, writing, and speaking section. Quizzes will generally be shorter, and will assess particular skills; i.e. vocabulary, grammar, or listening comprehension. Listening/Speaking Assessments and Assignments/Projects (30%): Occasionally students will receive specific listening or speaking assessments—these may be unannounced and done periodically throughout the semester. These include listening segments that correspond to the video series accompanying Deutsch Aktuell I and correspond to our lessons. Assignments in this category include all other papers, projects, presentations, notebook checks, and journals. This includes “Mini- projekte” that we do during class time and which may be taken home for completion. Midterm/Project 10% In the first quarter we will have a midterm; in the second quarter we will have either a test or a project. REMEMBER, I DO NOT GIVE OUT GRADES--YOU EARN THEM!!
