Scripture reading Psalm 96:1-9 Reader: Trevor Wells Psalm 96 1 Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. 2 Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. 3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

Scripture reading Psalm 96:1-9 Reader: Trevor Wells 4 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. 5 For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. 6 Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

Scripture reading Psalm 96:1-9 Reader: Trevor Wells 7 Ascribe to the LORD, all you families of nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. 8 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts. 9 Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.

How great thou art!

1: Verse 1 O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, thy pow'r throughout the universe displayed,

2: Chorus then sings my soul, my Saviour, God, to thee, "how great thou art! how great thou art!" then sings my soul, my Saviour, God, to thee, "how great thou art! how great thou art!"

3: Verse 2 When through the woods and forest glades I wander, and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees, when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur, and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze,

4: Chorus then sings my soul, my Saviour, God, to thee, "how great thou art! how great thou art!" then sings my soul, my Saviour, God, to thee, "how great thou art! how great thou art!"

5: Verse 3 And when I think that God, his Son not sparing, sent him to die, I scarce can take it in, that on the cross, my burden gladly bearing, he bled and died to take away my sin,

6: Chorus then sings my soul, my Saviour, God, to thee, "how great thou art! how great thou art!" then sings my soul, my Saviour, God, to thee, "how great thou art! how great thou art!"

7: Verse 4 When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart! then I shall bow in humble adoration and there proclaim, "My God, how great thou art!"

8: Chorus then sings my soul, my Saviour, God, to thee, "how great thou art! how great thou art!" then sings my soul, my Saviour, God, to thee, "how great thou art! how great thou art!" CCLI License Celebration Hymnal - 149

Mission segment Kieran and Emily Blackout

Who are we? Emily and Kieran Simpson We attend North Balwyn Baptist Church Been married for 2 years Heard about an opportunity for a short term mission trip from a couple at our church We would like to share about our trip to Indonesia

Where did we go? Surabaya Bali Indonesia

Why did we go? To visit an Organisation called Pondok Kasih To see what Pondok Kasih do To see the ways God is working amongst the poor people of Indonesia To see what we can do to help?

What did we do? We visited many of the poor communities... Mataram Cemetry Community Kapas Madya Youth Under the bridge community

What did we do? We took children from orphanage to a Safari Park We bought crafts made by poor women We played/sang at church We handed out food

How can we help??? We can pray - today we brought some information if you would like to know more We can raise money that we know will go directly to the communities in need It only costs $6 a month for a child to go to primary school...we can make a huge difference with just a little. Our Youth Group have made some Christmas Cards – we have some here today, they are $2 and all profits will go to the children in the Mataram and Kapas Madya communities of Indonesia to help pay for school. We can keep visiting – if you are interested in coming on a short term mission trip please let us know!

When I survey the wondrous cross

1: Verse 1 When I survey the wondrous cross on which the Prince Of Glory died, my richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride.

2: Verse 2 Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, save in the death of Christ, my God; all the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to his blood.

3: Verse 3 See from his head, his hands, his feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down; did e'er such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown?

4: Verse 5 Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were an offering far too small; love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all. CCLI License Baptist Praise and Worship - 233

1: Verse 1 Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.

2: Verse 2 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved; how precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed.

3: Chorus My chains are gone; I've been set free; my God, my Saviour has ransomed me. And like a flood, his mercy reigns, unending love, amazing grace.

4: Verse 3 The Lord has promised good to me; his word my hope secures; he will my shield and portion be as long as life endures.

5: Chorus My chains are gone; I've been set free; my God, my Saviour has ransomed me. And like a flood, his mercy reigns, unending love, amazing grace.

6: Chorus My chains are gone; I've been set free; my God, my Saviour has ransomed me. And like a flood, his mercy reigns, unending love, amazing grace.

7: Verse 4 The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, the sun forbear to shine; but God, who called me here below, will be for ever mine.

8: Ending Will be forever mine. You are forever mine.

Scripture reading Ephesians 2:1-10 Reader: Shirley Yap Made Alive in Christ 1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.

Scripture reading Ephesians 2:1-10 Reader: Shirley Yap 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

Scripture reading Ephesians 2:1-10 Reader: Shirley Yap 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
