When was the Louisiana Territory purchased? What did the territory become known as? Who was it purchased from? How much did it cost?

The Louisiana Purchase in 1803 helped to fulfill a vision of our fore fathers. Do you know what this vision was called? This was a vision to see the U.S. boundaries extended from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean

How do you think the purchase of the Louisiana Territory benefited the United States? The Port of New Orleans allowed access to the Mississippi River which helped with trade. Increased land and resources.
