Cultural Geography ► An integrating discipline, shows how cultural and human activities are distributed around the earth in clusters. And there are links connecting these clusters. ► A geographic view often is powerful in giving a true reflection of how events are really on the ground, for example: Are European peoples spread around the world generally well off? Is democracy related to religion? Do population statistics vary with the level of national economic development? Are faith systems associated with civilization?
It is hoped the course will encourage you to: ► Develop a curiosity for cultural awareness in geography ► Be more sensitive to culture through geographic principles and content Cultural Geography
Syllabus ► This is a general course in cultural geography and will cover a selection from the following topics: Nature of Geography Fundamentals of Geography Population geography Language Religion Culture European culture Political geography Development Agriculture Resources Post energy society
