Cultural Geography ► An integrating discipline, shows how cultural and human activities are distributed around the earth in clusters. And there are links connecting these clusters. ► A geographic view often is powerful in giving a true reflection of how events are really on the ground, for example:  Are European peoples spread around the world generally well off?  Is democracy related to religion?  Do population statistics vary with the level of national economic development?  Are faith systems associated with civilization?

It is hoped the course will encourage you to: ► Develop a curiosity for cultural awareness in geography ► Be more sensitive to culture through geographic principles and content Cultural Geography

Syllabus ► This is a general course in cultural geography and will cover a selection from the following topics:   Nature of Geography   Fundamentals of Geography   Population geography   Language   Religion   Culture   European culture   Political geography   Development   Agriculture   Resources   Post energy society
