Our Mission: The purpose of the MacArthur Boulevard Business Association shall be to support the business welfare of all MacArthur Boulevard area businesses and to promote, develop and preserve MacArthur Boulevard through community involvement, as a desirable place to work, shop and live.

Where We’ve Been

Established in the Fall of 2006 Nearly 130 members including business owners, concerned citizens & neighborhood associations Organized special events including annual artist market, holiday retail promotions & clean up day Created solid partnerships with Local, County, State and Federal Officials Redesigned organization logo, marketing theme & website Hosted focus groups to gather input from business owners & residents

Developed communication tools: e-news alerts, lists, press releases & new marketing to members Educational opportunities Worked with the City to establish new zoning requirements limiting the number of pay day lenders in our area Created a new marketing brochure to promote the area to local, regional & national development firms & potential businesses Hosted monthly membership meetings to foster a sense of support for business owners w/ informative topics

What Business Owners Are saying about Our Area… Our children’s shoe store has been on MacArthur for more than 50 years and continues to draw consumers from 60 miles in all directions. I would not trade it for any other location in Springfield Dave Saner, Owner-Luer’s Footwear Wild Birds Unlimited Nature Shop opened on MacArthur Boulevard nearly 15 years ago and we are having our best year yet. As a specialty shop, a large portion of our business comes from people who live all over Central Illinois. With the upcoming extension the Boulevard to I-72, we will draw even more consumers.
