Document Cameras

Strategies Place a timer under camera to help with time management Take pictures to include in presentations or web pages Solve problems using Graph paper Complete and displaying graphic organizers and graphs Model problem solving, underlining keywords and phrases. Demonstrate use of math manipulative such as compass, ruler, thermometer, base ten blocks, etc. Model use of calculatorStudent as teacher Record steps or lessonsDisplay Objects Provide step by step instructions Display student work

Capturing images To capture a still image on the document camera: Position item under document camera within the viewing area. Press the CAP/DEL button on the base of the document camera or use the CAPTURE button on the remote. The screen will quickly display "save" as the image is saved to the internal memory of the camera. Repeat as necessary (a maximum of 80 images can be saved in JPG format).

Origami Geometry Activity Fold a star-building unit, – compare areas of polygons, – identify different kinds of triangles and the measures of their angles, and to explore rotational symmetry. A star-building unit (SBU) is used to build many different kinds of polyhedrons. – Triangular hexahedron requires 3 star-building units. – Cube requires 6 SBU, – Stellated octahedron requires 12 SBU and – Stellated icosahedrons requires 30 SBU’s
