State Personnel Development Grant SPDG

Project Goals Improve outcomes for students by: − Increasing skill of educators using research/evidence-based effective practices in: Literacy Behavioral & Academic supports Delivery of effective special ed. Services Replication of successful strategies statewide

Supporting Objectives Developing “Quality Indicators” of evidence-based effective practices Using the “Quality Indicators” to identify schools with successful improvement efforts Identify and document key components & implementation strategies

Supporting Objectives (continued) Provide TA to schools furthest from SPP baseline 9 (or 6 year targets) Support mentor relationships between effective and targeted schools Promote research-to-practice implementation through Clearinghouse Establish peer-to-peer support networks for teachers and administrators

Supporting Objectives (continued) Collaborate with IHEs to: − Support Regional Field Facilitators in identification of high need districts using evidence based effective practices − Infuse knowledge of effective practices − Coordinate placement of student teachers − Support mentoring of teachers

Project Approach Identify LEAs with Effective Instructional Practices Identify key components of these practices Provide PD & TA to targeted schools Support relationships between schools Establish Statewide Clearinghouse Infuse practices statewide

How will SPDG Do It? Funded TA and PD networks will help identify schools with Effective Practices and those to be targeted Partnerships expanded or established with those with expertise in areas related to project goals
