Welcome Hyde Families College Application Process

 A partnership between the student, the parent and the college counselor  Schools that are the best fit for a student—academically and personally  All students will be required to participate in the college application process Our Philosophy “College admission is a match to be made—not a prize to be won.”

 Study Hall/ College Workshops and English Class/College Office Split  Testing - ACT and SAT  Finalizing of list of colleges  Individual college counseling sessions  Editing and more Editing! What’s Happening at Hyde School this Fall:

Complete materials following the College Counseling Office Timeline (see handout):  The application and supplements  The application essay(s)  Explanations (if needed)  Activities resume  Requesting teacher recommendations Student Expectations…

Working with their college counselor and parents students will:  Develop a balanced list of colleges  Choose Early Decision, Early Action, or Regular Decision  Know application requirements and deadlines  Update Naviance Account  Submit applications in a timely manner Student Expectations

These actions could include, but are not limited to probation, suspension, removal, dismissal, or expulsion from the institution?” Disciplinary/Legal Questions
