Presentation transcript:

 9DPC helped to raise money for Help For Heroes.  We raised £51.43  This is what we did… 

 To raise money for the main event 9DPC sold popcorn, lollies and marshmallows  We got permission from the Senior Leadership Team and the Canteen Manager  We announced our sale at Assembly in advance  We held the sale at Break time

 Cameron makes excellent popcorn in a variety of flavours  He bagged it up and we sold it for 50p a bag  Lots of people rushed to buy it, and we sold out  We had lollies as well and made additional money, although we now realise that this was outside of the school policy on Healthy Eating and we wouldn’t do it again

 We banked the money in the Office for safe- keeping  We asked the Canteen Manager if we could do another event  We learned that schools aren’t allowed to do very many food sale events every year

 We then tried organising an Airsoft trip to Combat Elite on Faulkner Road, Bangor  We divided up the work and soon realised how many jobs there were:  Booking transport  Asking other staff to join us  Getting permission from the Principal  Linking with Help For Heroes  Linking with the press  …and the list goes on and on and on and on…!

 The plan was to ask everyone for £10 + a donation to Help For Heroes, suggested donation of £5  This would let everyone have a fun afternoon and we got 30 names from people who were willing to come, so we would have raised £150  We did not get everything in place on time and so unfortunately it could not go ahead

 We look forward to presenting Help For Heroes with the money raised  We intend to publicise our achievement in the Gryphon and maybe also the Spectator if they want to run a story on it  Thank you to Mr Cunningham, Mr Gray, Mr Watkins, Mr McShane and Mrs Richardson for offering to come along to AirSoft, and thank you to the Canteen and SLT for permission!!

 The students in our class worked really well together  Everyone put lots of energy into it and made lots of phone calls, persisting when the organisations didn’t return the calls  People volunteered really quickly when a job needed done  We achieved our goal within the first 2 weeks because we acted quickly

 Would anyone like to ask us questions about what we did?
