SportsAble Charity founded in Maidenhead in 1975 Multi-disability, multi sport organisation 500 members 11 Sports Air Weapons, Archery, Boccia, Golf, Kurling, Pool, Rowing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Ten Pin Bowling, Wheelchair Basketball Significant expansion plans

Project Background 192,000 people with a disability or debilitating illness in Berkshire (c.20% of Berkshire population) Disabled people half as likely to participate in sport than non-disabled Knowledge of opportunities for disabled sport is poor

Objectives & Targets Increase disabled participation in sport –150 new athletes per year Develop disabled pathways into more sports –20 sports across 3 years Increase number of disability aware coaches –50 trained per annum Implement Advice Service –Face to face, / phone & social media

Project Budget £196,200 over 3 years –From July 1 st 2014 £157,200 funded by Sport England
