COLLEGE MATTERS at Wilson CC: College in High School & College in College!

Wilson Community College Offers Two Programs for You:  College credit while you’re still in high school  Freshman & sophomore years of a bachelor’s degree 2

3

College Credit While You’re Still in High School: Career & College Promise (CCP)  English, math & other general college courses, mostly online  Welding, Fire Technology, etc., & other technical courses  Tuition & books are FREE for high school students 4

5

How Do You Sign Up for CCP?  Talk to your high school counselor (now for Spring 2016!) OR  Talk to Wilson CC Student Development Office (252)

7

CCP FAQs:  CCP is the only way a high school student can attend a North Carolina community college  Private-school & home-school students may attend too (may have to pay for own books)  For more details & complete FAQs, see demic-programs/career-college-promise demic-programs/career-college-promise 8

9

Freshman & Sophomore Years of a Bachelor’s Degree:  North Carolina Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA)  with all 16 UNC universities  Independent Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (ICAA)  with 22 NC private colleges 10

11

These Agreements Guarantee That:  Your Wilson CC transfer degree (AA or AS) will fulfill your “gen ed” obligation at all of these colleges  Many courses transfer individually, even without AA or AS degree  More details at: edu/academic-programs/college- transferarticulation- agreements/comprehensive- articulation-agreement-caa AND edu/news- center/news/community-colleges- independent-colleges-and- universities-sign-revised-agreement 12

13

To Make the Best Use of These Agreements:  Look at the 4-year transfer plan for your major at your intended university  For example, check out 4-year plans at UNC-CH here: for-outside-coursework/transferring-your- courses/information-for-transfers-from-nc-community- colleges/  Or at ECU here: acad/registrar/Transfer-Credits.cfmhttp:// acad/registrar/Transfer-Credits.cfm 14

15

Quality of Education at Wilson Community College:  All NC colleges & universities are accredited by the same organization  Average of 92% of Wilson CC transfers are successful at 4-year colleges  All of this for about 1/3 the yearly cost of attending a public university 16

17 Call us at (252) and/or stop by our info booth here today. The Wilson Community College family thanks you for your time!
