Shortly after arrival Shortly after the Hebrews entered Egypt, the pharaoh overthrew the Hebrew civilization and created slaves out of the people.

Hatred Runs Wild While in Egypt the pharaoh had a great hatred for the Hebrews. The pharaoh wanted the Hebrews to change their religious beliefs but the Hebrews wouldn’t.

Strong Faith By trying to force the Hebrews away from their religion, the pharaoh only brought the Hebrew people closer together.

Think about this! If you were the pharaoh what would you do with the Hebrew nation that would not listen to your word?

Punishing the Hebrews The Pharaoh decided to punish the Hebrews for their unwillingness to cooperate so he decided to kill the first born of all Hebrews. There was a prophecy that said the first born son of a Hebrew would overthrow the Egyptian empire.

Good and Bad of the Nile The Hebrew children were drowned in the Nile River. That is how the Pharaoh decided to kill all first born Hebrew children. The good is that a Hebrew mother sent her baby afloat on the Nile in hopes that he would escape his dark fate.

The Baby Survived The baby was found in a basket along side the Nile. The baby arrived at the home of an Egyptian princess. The princess decided to raise the baby as her own. Even though she knew the child was of Hebrew lineage.

Rags to Riches The child born to Hebrew slaves was now being raised as an Egyptian prince. The child’s name was Moses.

Moses and Ramses Moses and Ramses fought for the love and attention of the pharaoh so that they could be in line as the next pharaoh of Egypt. The pharaoh’s name was Seti.

The Pharaoh sought Moses Moses always wanted to be truthful and honest with everyone. He was also in charge of oversee the construction of his grandfather’s pyramids. Ramses was pale in comparison to Moses. How do you think these two men felt towards one another?

Building projects While oversee the pyramid projects one day, Moses saw a slave master abusing a slave for no reason. Moses killed the slave master. He fled Egypt with his life. The Hebrews believed that he was the man who would deliver them from bondage. The man from the prophecy.

Voice of God After killing the slave master Moses found out that he was the son of a Hebrew slave. Moses fled to the hills where he heard the voice of god. God told him that he was to deliver the Hebrews from bondage. Moses listened to Yahweh.

Closure Today we learned about the life and times of Moses and how he went from being a slave to a king to a slave again.
