Examine this document. What is the reason for this document? What does it hope to accomplish? Why do the authors feel it is necessary? How do you know? Is this a reasonable limit to civil liberties (rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution) when the threat of war was present?

What caused the atmosphere that led to this document’s creation?

What does this film reflect? What can we learn about the post-war era from this short educational film?

Why was there such fear during the post-war years? Was the fear legitimate? We will explore these questions in our brief study of the Cold War tomorrow and Friday. How serious was the threat to our way of life? How serious was the threat to the world?
