G053 - Lecture 21 Writing My Evaluation Mr C Johnston ICT Teacher

Session Objectives Understand what you need to comment upon in order to write an effective evaluation.

What I Need To Write An in depth report which fully evaluates the website you have produced, and the methods employed to author it. Need to include: Comments on how the website meets the needs of your users, General website strengths and weaknesses, Reasons for components included and list strengths and weaknesses, Suggest and justify improvements, Critical analysis of the methods used to design, implement and test the website, Suggest how you could improve your approach to the work in the future, Ensure there are little SPG errors.

Evaluation - Suggested Structure Title page Contents page Introduction including overview purpose and audience of your site, General advantages and disadvantages of the site, Explanation of how you site meets the needs of visitors, Table listing the the strengths and weaknesses of the components used in your website and why you chose to include them, Analysis of the feedback received from visitors, Suggestion and justification of improvements which could have been made to your website based on testing, evaluation and feedback, Table listing the methods you choose to design, implement and test your website along with advantages and disadvantages of the methods and a suggestion of how your approach could have been better, Improvements which could have made made to the implementation process based on testing, evaluation and feedback, Appendix – completed user questionnaires

Task F (1) You need to provide a detailed and critical analysis of each page of your website and the components within them, as well as the website as a whole. Explain why each component was used and whether it worked well or not. Incorporate comments from visitors into analysis – (graphs are good at showing this and include questionnaires as appendices). Suggest possible improvements that could be made to the site, justifying these in terms of the identified weaknesses and visitor feedback.

Task F (2) A detailed and critical analysis of what worked well and what did not work well in terms of the tools, techniques and methods they used when designing, implementing and testing your website. You will use the identified weaknesses in the methods used to suggest ways in which you could improve the website production process if you were to attempt a similar task in the future.

Task F (3) These questions may help with the second part… What worked well in the way you implemented your project? What did not go well in the implementation of your project? What have you learnt about the process of implementing a project? Did you take account of problems and revise your methods accordingly? Were tasks completed in the correct order? How would you overcome any weaknesses in your implementation you have identified? How would this make things better? For MB3 there must be a clear link between the weaknesses which you have identified and the improvements which can be made.

Before I Write My Evaluation… You need to ensure that before you start to write you final evaluation that you have: A completed test plan Created a questionnaire and collected peoples opinions about your final website.
