If a child is not breathing it is more likely to be because of a problem with their breathing than with their heart. Then 2 rescue breaths. Then continue with 30 chest compressions. If you are alone, do 1 minute of CPR before going to call an ambulance. Therefore with child CPR start with 5 rescue breaths.
