Learning for Jobs Vocational Training for Adults in Israel Let’s talk about…  changes in demand for skills and participation in learning,  how to ensure that the right people get access to adult education and training,  how to ensure that vocational education and training (VET) provision is relevant for the economy, and  evidence supporting the matching of skills supply and labour market needs.

Learning for Jobs Vocational Training for Adults in Israel Engaging the social partners Looking at the Swiss model - structure  VET curricula are developed by professional organisations and approved by the government  Workplace-based training is a mandatory part of VET programmes in Switzerland  VET teachers and trainers/supervisors in the industry are well prepared

Learning for Jobs Vocational Training for Adults in Israel Engaging the social partners Looking at the Swiss model - returns  Labour market outcomes of higher VET are on average better than for university graduates.  According to a 2004 cost-benefit analysis, the gross benefit of employer involvement in VET in Switzerland is higher (CHF 5.2 billion) than the cost (CHF 4.7 billion).
