Analyze the impact of language changes.

Topic How does art more effectively make people aware of language death, than magazine articles?

Outline David Crystal’s idea Example of text type that is not attractive Analyzing the “non attractive” text Example of text type which is attractive Analyze the impact of language change Conclusion

Language change The increasing rate of language loss needs to be recognized…(p.48-49) Seventy-five per cent of the population seem not to know that there is an issue, therefore. And a fair number of the remaining twenty-five percent do not believe that it is an important issue. (p.106) The top priority has to be a greater concern for endangered languages. The concern can take many forms—aside from doing the actual work of linguistic documentation……help at community lever and fundraising. (p.129)

Not interesting examples

Wikipedia

Book example The connection between the arrival of a global language and the increased rate of language loss needs to be recognized, but not oversimplified. The impact of dominant languages on minority languages is a matter of universal concern, and the role of English is especially implicated. (p.48-49)

How can we get attention?

Crystal’s idea Lectures, books and radio programmed are the traditional way but these have limited effect. The motivations and tensions which affect him as he decides whether to allow his language to be recorded for posterity or not We have to get awareness of the language crisis into the home and there are only two real ways of doing this on a large scale: through the internet and through the arts.

Analyze the impact of language change

By appear of international language, it had brought big affect to the minority languages. Extinction of language should be recognized by people more often, as Crystal says to get recognition from the appearance is important. As my representation showed, showing language issue in more attractive way(music or artwork) could convey the idea more than just a text because visual stimulation would affect a person more than reading and generating the idea.
