Technical Cooperation Under a Technical Cooperation Agreement, Airservices Australia is working closely with the FAA to achieve GBAS Category I certification by the end of Calendar Year 2008 Airservices Australia is partially funding technical support to the FAA. This relationship between the FAA and Airservices has seen the program moving forward and is greatly appreciated Mr Leo Eldredge deserves special mention for his foresight in putting this technical cooperation together

GROUND-BASED AUGMENTATION SYSTEM Summary The GBAS era is here – Air Navigation Service Providers, equipment manufacturers and airlines understand the Value Proposition of GBAS A single GBAS ground station provides precision approach paths to all runway ends Certification of one GBAS manufacturer (Honeywell) by the end of 2008 Airborne equipage rate increasing Benefit quantification specific to each operational environment Pre certification systems in operational use at Sydney Australia (Qantas), Bremen Germany (TUIfly) and Guam (Continental Air Micronesia) There are four known manufacturers of GBAS (Companies in the USA; USA/Denmark; France; Russia)
