CAHE Technology Help Desk ● (505) ● ● Table of Contents –Creating a Table of Contents Click where you want to insert the table of contents On the Insert menu, point to Reference, and click Index and Tables. Click the Table of Contents tab. To use one of the available designs, click a design in the Formats box. Select any other table of contents options you want.

Select the first heading that you want to appear in the table of contents. On the Outlining toolbar, select the outline level that you want to associate with the selected paragraph. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each heading that you want to include in the table of contents. Click where you want to insert the table of contents. On the Insert menu, point to References, and click Index and Tables. Click the Tab of Contents tab. To use one of the available designs, click a design in the Formats box.
