Language Policy Secondary 1-2 : English titles only Secondary 3- Form 7: –a balance between English and Chinese Reading –Prescribed Reading –Recommended Reading –Chinese Dept. Reading List

Form 6-7: –Editorial pages only/ quality periodicals are acceptable BAN reading for assignments/ School work

When? How long? Reading Lesson per cycle S1-3 : Use of Reading Journal –Reading Log –Comments Reserve few minutes for updating Reading Journal entries Arrange occasional oral recommendations

How to get started Make clear school language policy Access school library website for Reading Lists Read books on Prescribed Reading Lists FIRST Then books on Recommended Reading Lists

Use of Reading Journal Secondary 1-3 Record title, author, date of publication, date read in the reading log Respond to reading in one’s own words Get peer/ parent feedback Oral recommendations Post written recommendations

Class Reading Progress Submit the following 2 items to Reading Team in December and May each year 1.ONE copy of the BEST entry in Reading Journal (S1-S3) or Book Recommendations ( F.4 –F.6) for display on campus 2.Complete the E-class Electronic Survey From on S1-S7 Class Reading Progress
