RESEARCH - The Olympic movements extend beyond the games themselves because its not only about the sport, its also about the people who overcome those challenges. Athletes performing at the highest level- or in training to get there- are encouraged to live by a set of shared principles, or ways of living. These are called the Olympics Values which are what helps them do what they do and aim and achieve high. The Olympic and Paralympic Games are about much more than sporting excellence. Underpinning the Games is the philosophy of Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the Modern Olympic Movement. He saw in the Games an ideal opportunity to develop a set of universal principles – or Values – that could be applied to education and to society as a whole, as well as to sport itself. - how, through sport, to understand each other despite any differences - how to give the best of oneself, on the field of play or in life; taking part; and progressing according to one’s own objectives. - fair play; knowing one’s own limits; and taking care of one’s health and the environment.

RESEARCH - What is SmallSteps4Life? SmallSteps4Life is a fun programme with a serious aim - to help initiate and support long-term behaviour and attitude change among young people across the UK. SmallSteps4Life is leading the healthy and active lifestyles strand of 'Get Set' - the London 2012 education programme. James Cracknell, sustainability ambassador for London 2012, is a key supporter of the programme as healthy living is one of the core themes of the London 2012 sustainability programme. SmallSteps4Life is part of the Change4Life movement, a nationwide movement that aims to help families eat well, move more and live longer. Many families are already making changes that will help them to live healthier, happier lives. SmallSteps4Life will help motivate and support young people to take small, manageable steps to improve their health and well-being through challenges across themes of eating well, getting active and feeling good.

The key principles of the programme are: - Small steps lead to big changes - Young people lead the way - Collective action is powerful - Emphasis on having a go - It's not about success or failure - Sharing what you're doing and celebrating your involvement - Having fun! - Continued...

Draft Questionnaire... This is my draft questionnaire that I did. I had to change it because it wasn’t very clear as there were so many boxes next to each other. Also, the colours clashed and didn’t fit with my colour scheme at all. Also, the questions were very close together which made it very crowded and some of the questions were a bit difficult to answer with how I put it and I didn’t give a good range of options for the person doing the questionnaire to choose from.

Final Questionnaire.... This is my final questionnaire which I found much better than my previous one. This questionnaire it much clearer and less crowded, very straight forward and fits with my colour scheme. It has a wide range of options to choose from so people are clear on how to answer the questions.
