7 th Dot Aero Council Meeting | Slide 5www.information.aero Overview of the selection criteria Technical competencies – Compliance with all ICANN functional and performance criteria – Must have prior experience operating a TLD or comparable service –Highly reliable DNS, preference given to diversity Service continuity – SLAs to include % uptime for TLD servers –Data escrow –Contingency procedures Services specific to the community – Extensions for eligibility verification and specific name allocations – Registry-registrar protocol allowing near real time updates (new requirement) – Support for DNSSEC protocol (new requirement) – No specific requirement for IDN (internationalized domain names) Cost effectiveness –Lowest cost providing criteria fulfilled –Possible revenue share to minimise exposure
