What does the word region mean?

Areas with features that have certain things in common.

In which region of the United States is NJ located?

Northeast region

New Jersey consists of how many regions?

Four

Which is NJ’s largest natural region?

The Atlantic Coastal Plain

Which physical feature lies in the Piedmont region?

The Palisades.

The Piedmont

In what region are the Pine Barrens located?

The Atlantic Coastal Plain

What region do you live in?

The Piedmont.

How were New Jersey’s natural regions shaped?

Glaciers pushed into present-day NJ and caused erosion. When the glaciers melted, their water filled holes to form large lakes. Glaciers left behind rich soil called till. The Atlantic Coastal Plain was uncovered when the level of the Atlantic Ocean fell.

What is renewable?

Something that can be made again by people or nature.

1.Explain the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources. 2.Give an example of a renewable and non-renewable resource. 3.Discuss why so many people are recently making a change to use renewable resources instead of depending on non-renewable resources.

1.The difference between renewable and non-renewable resources is that a renewable resource can be reused or replaced; a nonrenewable resource cannot be made again. 2.An example of a renewable resource is trees. It can be reused into wood and paper and another can be grown in its place. An example of a non-renewable resource is minerals. They cannot be made again once they are used. It would take thousands of years to form and be replaced. 3.Many people are making changes to use renewable resources instead of depending on non-renewable resources as a result of our problem with pollution. People are recycling more and reusing the resources that we already have.
