A.Institutional framework 1. Involved in climate change policy design/implementation? (50% of participants: yes) Department of State for Trade, Industry and Employment: Trade and Environment issues PEO, School Agriculture: DOSBSE through school agriculture unit coordinates environmental enhancement through tree planting in schools, especially in rural areas Department of state for local government, lands etc.: Responsible for local governance is always involved in all mayor operations of government and climate change is one of the fundamental issues. 2. PEO, school agriculture: Outplanting programs in schools with a view to mitigate the effects of climate change. Department of state for local government, lands etc.: During consultative stakeholders meetings on policies and the sensitization at local/regional level. 2. How important are CCM issues? Very important: 66% of participants important: 0% of participants not relevant: 0% of participants not sure: 33% of participants What additional information would you like? What other countries are doing individually and how they are forging regional partnerships in the area. How can our ministry be involved in the climate change mitigation project as implementers? More information on emission control, funding windows for this important global concern.

D. Climate change adaptation (CCA) 1. Involved in CCA policies and/or discussions? Information about other country experiences and how they collaborate at the regional front to address adaptation issues. Other country’s experiences and collaborations. How can our Ministry be assisted by the NAPA project to develop learning methods on climate change technology transfer for our schools? Information about how countries are funding gaps financially towards effecting climate-related investments. How would sectors mobilise additional resources to take on board climate change issues. (33% of participants: yes) PEO school agriculture: Through workshops organised by department of forestry Department of state for local government, lands and religious affairs: Department of state responsible for land administration internally and collaborates with other departments of state responsible of forestry matters at both local and national level. 2. How important are LULUCF issues to you? Very important: 50% of participants important: 0% of participants not relevant: 0% of participants not sure: 50% of participants What additional information would you like? The impact of trade policies on land usage and forestry maintenance. Modern land use to protect the environment and the best practices in the protection of the forest cover.
