How does this problem effect Melissa or Texas? Texas is ranked 39 out of 50 as far as the healthiest states. Lots of us have gotten sick with the tummy bug and some people have had head bugs. About 30% of people in Texas are overweight. 78% of kids in Texas get immunizations. That is pretty good. The school lunches are getting healthier.

What Causes this Problem? People come to school when they are sick and contagious. People don’t wash their hands People blow nose and don’t wash their hands after and get sick. People don’t exercise enough and they aren’t healthy.

What can the local community do to help this problem? They can get vaccines. Eat a balance diet. Get rest. Wash your hands with soap. Exercise. Get a flu shot. Make healthy choices. Eat healthy all the time.
