Entrusted: Wisely Using God’s Gifts Sufficiently Content 1 Timothy 6:1–11

Memory Verse For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:10

Learning Goals Explore: Students will understand that either greed or contentment will determine how one makes decisions about money. Transform: Students will identify their attitude toward money and how that attitude could affect decisions.

Discussion When you are given your allowance or pay from a job, what is your process of deciding who or what to put the money toward? If you remembered that every dollar you have belongs to God, how would you spend it differently? What are some practical ways that you could use your money now to make an eternal investment and impact in your life and in the lives of others? When in your family life was the financial situation tight? Did these times have an impact on your attitude toward money and trusting God? What are some ways that money is a distraction for you?

Key Study 1. Pursuing what is eternal instead of what is temporary brings contentment. 1 Timothy 6:1–8

Key Study 2. Pursuing riches out of a greedy heart leads to a life of destruction. 1 Timothy 6:9–10

Key Study 3. Pursuing righteousness leaves no room for selfishness. 1 Timothy 6:11
