Penguin’s Adaptations By: Austin Savage

How Penguins Stay Warm Penguins have feathers like birds but they can still be cold. Penguins huddle in large numbers too stay warm through cold days.

How Penguins Stay Cool Some penguins have bald spots close too there eyes too let heat escape. An other way penguins stay cool is opening there wings too let heat and air move out and into the penguins body.

How Penguins Swim Penguins can swim through the water at 15 miles per hour. because of there webbed feet and flippers also the torpedo like shaped outline of there body.

How Penguins Hide Penguins spend most of there time in the sea. And you know that penguins are black and white. So that makes them blend in with the dark deep sea.

Catching prey Penguins eat fish and other small animals. They dive in the water and with there sharp beck they grasp the fish with there mouth very fast.

The Penguins Mouth The top of the penguins mouth has soft spikes that help guide the food down the penguins stomach.

Penguins beak Besides catching fish, penguins use there beak to get rocks and build there nest for there eggs not to roll away from the strong wind power.
