GRAPHIC DESIGN FONTS COLOUR IMAGES SPECIAL EFFECTS KISS Power Point Basics

Graphic Design Have a consistent theme. Keep the background subtle. Use only enough text to prompt ideas. Keep the design clean and uncluttered. Leave enough empty space.

Graphic Design Continued Use quality clipart sparingly. Graphic should enhance the topic. Limit the number of graphics. Avoid flashy graphics and noisy animations. Limit the number of transitions used.

Fonts Select easy to read fonts. Use a 24 point or larger font. Clearly title each screen.  Use a larger font  Use a different color Avoid italicized fonts. Fonts-from-A-Z-Mega-Font-Package-MRR

Fonts Continued Use high contrast for visibility. Use colour to highlight ideas. Use the 6 x 6 Rule.  one thought per line  no more than 6 words / line  no more than 6 lines / slide Fonts-from-A-Z-Mega-Font-Package-MRR

Colour Limit the number of colors. Bright colors make objects stand out. Check all colors on a projection screen.

Images Have a balance of text / images. Don’t use images to decorate. Use images to enhance explanation. Acknowledge the source of images.

Special Effects Use animations and media sparingly. Use animations to draw attention. Use animations for effect, if needed.

KISS Keep It Straight and Simple. Keywords only. No sentences. Never read your slides, talk freely. Acknowledge all sources. Keep-it-Simple-Easier-Said-than-Done1.jpg
