POETIC DEVICES IN OWEN’S STRANGE MEETING Personification : Line 3, 20, 32 Repetition : Words like ‘blood’, ‘pity of war’, ‘grieves’, ‘wounds’ etc Oxymoron : ‘strange friend’, ‘dead smile’, etc Enjabment or run-on-lines : Lines 21, 3- 4, 4-5 etc. nearly all the lines are full of enjabments. Caesura : A pause in a line of poetry. Lines 15, 21, 14, 9
