  The 2 nd half of the 16 th century – theater was not respected and was under attack by the church.  Luckily, Elizabeth I loved theater and saved the art.  She protected actors from restrictive laws and gave them permission to perform.  King’s Men  He became part owner of the Globe Theater Shakespeare’s Theater

  After watching the documentary, you will free-write a short piece about how you feel about approaching Shakespeare.  Give me an idea of what you expect from the last unit of the semester.  How do you feel about reading Shakespeare?
