Sounding Off: Expectations: –I was hoping to share a lesson with others on teaching the Vietnam Era through the use of popular music. –My first goal is that others will use this terrific teaching style. –My second goal is that others will contribute more musical pieces to enhance this lesson.
Sounding Off: Reasons for the project: –I enjoy working on the computer –Good friends to spend time with –$–$ –Need the units for more $ –$–$
Sounding Off: Actual Learning: –I have learned that this assignment is much more work than I originally thought it would be. –I have also learned that I have spent way too much time perfecting this website when I could have used the ugly template. :<)
Sounding Off: Reflections: –students respond to the teaching style of the lesson “I like music” “I enjoy learning this way” “This unit was fun and enjoyable”
Sounding Off: Reflections: –music reinforces readings in the textbook “This made reading the book more enjoyable”
Sounding Off: Reflections: –some songs are long and repetitive, and so are some of the necessary guidelines for this project “No comment needed” “We can pick and choose what works for us”
Sounding Off: Student Data:
Sounding Off: Work Accomplished: –I created a standards based lesson with Internet technology. I used Excel more than I usually do. I already teach web and graphic design classes, so this area was easy. I enjoyed helping others with their questions. –I applaud all people who completed this course and are bringing technology to our students. :<)
Sounding Off: Concluding Statements: –Music makes you think!!”
