3.1 Introduction to the American Tour Use information from the Student Resource Book, page 369, to answer the following questions: What is the U.S. Census? Why is it important?

3.2 American Tour: Population Data What is the largest number in the table on page 371 in the student reference book?

3.3 Exploring Angle Measures How might you use this figure to prove that the measure of each angle of a square is 90 degrees? Be prepared to explain your answer.

3.4 Using a Protractor Use only the information on journal page 68 to complete problems 1 and 2.

3.5 Using a Compass Draw the largest and smallest circle you can draw with your compass. What is the radius of the largest circle?

3.6 Congruent Triangles Complete problems 1, 2 & 3 on page 75 in your journal. Use the information given on this page to help you answer the questions.

3.7 Properties of Polygons Solve the problem on journal page 80.

3.8 Regular Tessellations Follow the directions on Math Masters, page 89.

3.9 Angles of Polygons Use a straightedge to draw a big triangle on a sheet of paper. Measure the angles and find the sum. Record the sum on the class line plot.

3.10 Solving problems using the Geometry Template Answer the three questions on the top of journal page 92.
