Digital Knowledge Central Using the DKC

DKC Main Page This is where you click to access the databases.

DKC: Access DKC Resources (TOP) You can click on these icons to access a database: Remember, we get NewsBank, EBSCO, and Britannica Online

DKC: Access DKC Resources (bottom) You can also choose the databases to use from the list on the bottom of the page.

EBSCO: Main Page This is where you click to enter EBSCO

EBSCO: Choose Database Page You can choose any of the databases you want to search. Match your topic to the database.

EBSCO: Advanced Search On this screen, it is important that you put a checkmark in this box.

EBSCO: Results Page (top) Once you have done your search, you can narrow down the types of sources on your result list.

EBSCO: Results Page (bottom) Your result list will have both HTML and PDF full text files.

EBSCO: HTML File This is what a HTML file looks like. The highlighted area is the bibliographic info. These buttons let you print, , and save.

EBSCO: PDF File This is what a PDF file will look like.

EBSCO: Visual Search This is the search box. You can use Boolean operators, AND, OR, NOT. Make sure they are in ALL CAPS. You can’t set your filters until after you search. This is the Visual Search page.

EBSCO: Visual Search Results Navigation buttons. These are your search results. To go to the next level, click on the chosen circle. Every circle represents another layer you can go down. Squares represent articles. Your article will be shown on this side, once you have clicked on it.
