WHS Desktop DATABASES When you login to the computers in the library or computer lab, these are the icons that will take you to the 3 different databases that you will use for your research project. Start with EBSCO or Britannica, then use World Book if needed.

Britannica Online This is the home screen for Britannica. You want to make sure that you have High School selected, and then type your search terms into the box. Britannica Home Screen

Britannica Online This screen has the results for your search terms. The results are divided by type – Encyclopedia articles, multimedia, and other types of results. Britannica Search Screen

Britannica Online Once you select an article, you are able to see the table of contents for your article, and at the bottom of the article, there is a MLA citation for that article. If you use information out of an article, do not forget to copy and paste the MLA citation information into a Word document so that you will have the citation when you start your Works Cited. Britannica Article

EBSCO This is the opening screen in EBSCO. You need to click on the Student Research Center.

EBSCO This is the first window in EBSCO Student Resource Center – Click on Uncheck All.

EBSCO Once all boxes are unchecked, check the boxes for Magazines, Newspapers, Books & Encyclopedias, and Photos, Maps, & Flags.

EBSCO Type your search terms in the Find box.

EBSCO This is the results list. You can filter results in different ways – by type, by date, and by relevance.

EBSCO This is the same results, sorted by Relevance.
