Early Life John Paul Jones was born is Scotland. The exact location is estimated to be near Kirkcudbright (John). He went on his first voyage when he was only 12 years old. The job was on a slave ship and he did not care for it at all (John).

Revolutionary War John Paul Jones was given the task of sailing to Great Britain to stop the British fleets from coming to America. He is greatly known for the battle that took place in the Atlantic were he took control of the British ship Serapis (John). At the end of the war, he was considered a hero because of his courage to take on the greatest navy in the current world.

After the War John Paul Jones was asked to join the Russians in their battle against the Turks. He battled the Turks in the Black sea and won. After that, he returned to fight in the French Revolution. Part of what made John Paul Jones such a great man at sea was because he never gave up and he always shows great courage.

Resting Place John Paul was originally buried, but his grave was forgotten about. It was discovered in 1905 and then moved to Annapolis naval academy (John) Annapolis
