 the state motto is “under god, the people rule.”  the state nicknames are “The Coyote State or the Sunshine State”

 the state song is……"Hail, South Dakota!"

 One of the state landmarks is Mount Rushmore!!!!

 the state license plate sort of looks like the Texas flag, but it has south Dakota in the middle.

 Governor Mike Rounds is the governor of the state South Dakota.

 The state capital is Pierre (named after Pierre Chouteau who founded St Louis, Missouri) as you can barley see, the dot is the capital.

 Cattle farming is the major industry. South Dakota also has gold mining. Other industry includes food products, machinery and wood products.
