Bristol’s Inclusion Vision

To develop Bristol as a place where people with any level of dementia: Are able live full, involved and creative lives Are valued as part of their families, friendships and communities Continue to do the things that have been important to them in their lives Are able to start and/or join new things Can receive respectful support,as their dementia progresses and their needs change, to carry on with their lives Are recognised and valued for who they are Live in neighbourhoods which are welcoming, accepting and accessible Go to familiar places without stigma and embarrassment

Two main strands: Experimental projects that support people with dementia to access interest groups and activities Support for groups/ organisations to welcome people with dementia

MemoryScape: Googling – creating playlist – sharing old pleasures Making links – building social networks

Supported volunteering for people with dementia People with dementia choose volunteer project Volunteer mentors Organisations with volunteer projects People with dementia have aspirations Want to contribute Mutual benefits for all involved
