Our Story Our organization started 10 years ago when a family started taking in animals and helping them. They stared there own little business at their house and it all went up from there.

Situation Our current building is in small town Somerset, WI, with a population of 4,000 people. Only having one small business in a small town poses a number of problems in wanting to extent our organization to greater extents:  There is not much land to look for animals in need  We can only hold a small amount of animals in our facility  There is not many people in the town which makes it hard to find people to adopt the animals.  We can’t hire as much employees that want to help out with the organization and care for the animals.

Our Building

Small Kennel Room for the Animals

Analyze We had discussed a number of measures to address this problem.  Build in Minneapolis, MN: It would cost 89,000 dollars to build the building and pay the workers. There would be offices for every one of the veterinarians and a bigger work space for the secretaries. The equipment for the animals and the appliances would cost 76,000 dollars. The building would have a whole separate place to keep the animals and they would have more room to be free.  Buy in Tampa, FL: There is reports of many homeless animals all over the area. The building would cost 61,000 dollars and it comes with some supplies. The rest of the cost for the rest of the supplies we would need would be 32,000 dollars. There is offices for all the veterinarians. The work space for the secretaries isn’t as big as if we were to build.  Build in Dallas, TX: It would cost 79,000 dollars to build and pay the workers. There would be offices for all the veterinarians. There would be an additional fee for the air conditioning. We would have to run it 24/7 because of the intense heat. To run the air condition constantly it would cost 18,000 dollars more than the original price. We would have to by all the appliances which would add up to 76,000 dollars.

Recommend I recommend that we expand to a different building for J.E.K. Sheltering Animals with new working places and brand new equipment, with more space to put the animals and give them more space to be free. I have checked with the two places to build and one place to buy and I think this would be a great step to make J.E.K. Sheltering a more successful organization.  In my opinion, the best option is to build in Minneapolis, MN. This building would come with the following specifics:  Building: Two stories, with additional one acre of space for the animals to be free.  Rooms: 4 offices for each veterinarian, big space for the secretaries, 4 rooms to work on the animals, 1 room for x-rays, and two rooms to do surgery on the animals.  Appliances: All of the appliances will be top of its brand, there will be new computers in every working room, all new medical supplies, storing units, and animal kennels with all the supplies and food with them.

Implement If we choose to build in Minneapolis, MN there will be four major steps to make this a successful place.  Get all the workers we will need.  We will have all the blue prints printed our and we will have a rough sketch of what the building will look like.  We will start making fliers, posters, and I will talk to the newspaper company to advertise our organization to get people to recognize our organization and potentially have then adopt an animal.  Have an opening party to celebrate how far we have got in our organization.

Evaluate There is many positive things that can come from this building in Minneapolis, MN.  A bigger building to hold more animals, which then we will be able to help more animals.  A better populated area, which will bring in more people to adopt our animals.  More space for the animals to play and run around so they don’t feel cooped up.  An office for all the veterinarians and a bigger work place for the secretaries.  More publicity for our organization.

Conclusion A new building will improve the number of animals we treat, more animals getting adopted, and advertise our organization, not just now but for the years to come. The building drive will also bring more employees to J.E.K Sheltering Animals.
