Connector Frankly, I do not have similar experience with Katie. I live in Taiwan where has almost no racial discrimination. What we have here is political problem. I was born in 1990’s, a decade when the stock market was boomed. My parents are teachers, who are not allowed to form the unions. Maybe this is the only thing Katie and I are in common. If I have to recall something about racial discrimination, it was when I traveled to US. I felt that some Americans, especially the teenagers, were really stupid, that they thought of Taiwan as Thailand. They smirked at us and spoke some Korean words, which made me feel uncomfortable.

Connector They viewed us as Chinese and said that Chinese people eat cats and dogs. However, I think that in every part of the world, there are some people who resist the foreign culture. What Katie and I experienced are due to the unfamiliarity with a different race, a different culture.
