FIPS-Mouche n FIPS-Mouche established at the CIPS Congress in San Marino n FIPS-Mouche relieved from heritage management n Conservation Symposia incorporated into FIPS-Mouche Championships

The Principles of the Programme n To raise awareness of vital importance of conservation of trout and its habitat among competitors and general public “WATER THAT IS GOOD FOR TROUT IS ALSO GOOD FOR HUMAN BEEINGS” n To share information about local achievements in conservation, applicable internationally

The Principles of the Programme n To create atmosphere of acceptance for fly fishing championships n To support local organisations and local projects with the prestige of the global organisation n To protect and to develop the prestige and future of our sport

FIPS-MOUCHE CONSERVATION SYMPOSIA n n 1993 Canada“Clean Water – Wild Trout” n n Beginning of the programme n n Presented by Province of British Columbia and Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks - Fisheries Branch

FIPS-MOUCHE CONSERVATION SYMPOSIA A half day event with the programme built around: n n The Importance of Cold, Clean Water Resources n n Risks of pollution and of the exploitation of natural resources n n Habitat Management n n Wild Trout, Atlantic Salmon and Steelhead Resources

Kamloops, Canada, 1993 One of the conditions of Hosting a WFFC and Conservation Symposium was a significant contribution to the Heritage Fund for Conservation 50% of the Fund was to be used by a Kamloops Conservation Committee; 50% of the Fund was to be used by Fly Fishing Canada for Conservation projects across Canada.

Kamloops, Canada, 1993 Kamloops, Canada, 1993 Part of the Kamloops portion was used for a scholarship for conservation studies. The fund has increased by 50%, in spite of awarding scholarships annually for the past 10 years. The rest was used by Kamloops as seed money to build an access & casting pier for the handicapped on Lac La Juene

Kamloops, Canada, 1993 Kamloops, Canada, 1993 All the recipients are told that the source of the funds was the 13th FIPS-Mouche World Fly Fishing Championship & Conservation Symposium held in Kamloops, BC in It not only promotes acceptance of the Championships, but brings in additional conservation donations.
