An Overview of the Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology Started as Computer Center within University of Malaya in 1965 Became Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology in 1994 Currently has approx. 1,128 students (as at 10 Dec 2010) 577 postgraduate ~ 551 undergraduate and ~ 76 lecturers + 27 administrative + 15 technical staff

Directions of the Faculty Increasing emphasis on quality education –Graduate within 4 semesters (Masters) / 8 semesters (PhD) (financial rewards for early completion for PhD students) –Have the necessary knowledge and soft skills Increasing emphasis on research and publication –Increased facilities –Incentives for students doing research, e.g. financial support, conference participation, publication, etc. –In future, there will be extra space for Postgraduate in the Wisma R&D.
