Background Checks

New vendor is HireRight Basic Package Includes: Employment verification Education verification Criminal background checks SSN Trace The finalist receives communication directly from HireRight to complete the form that allows them to complete the checks We no longer need to request a copy of the driver license or request the date of birth from the candidate for this purpose

Pool Certification Certification of the Applicant Pool The applicant pool must be certified by EOPD prior to the committee’s discussion of the candidates. Certification of the Interview Pool We will no longer certify the interview pool You are still required to input the information into the system Pursuant to the OFCCP we are required to monitor the process Upfront Conversations

Student Employment Week

During “Student Employment Week” FIU will recognize students who are both seeking their degree at the University and have chosen to gain invaluable work experience by also choosing to be an FIU employee, “Student Assistant” or “Federal Work Study”. At the end of the week, on Friday, April 15 th, one student will be awarded the “SEOTY” Student Employee of the Year Recognition. Deadline for submitting nominations: Monday, February 28, 2011 Forms are available on HR and Financial Aid website.

Graduate Teaching or Research Assistants are not eligible.
