PROJECTS ABOUT MIGRATION

Oltre le migrazioni - C.I.S.V

-What is “C.I.S.V.” ? ➔ It is a N.G.O (Non Governamental Organization); ➔ It has been working in 11 African and Latin American countries for 50 years promoting human rights and the development of local communities; ➔ It works with migrants’ associations and with schools to raise awareness and to coordinate volunteering projects connected to multicultural topics;

What have we done with the “Oltre le migrazioni” project? First we did some meetings, with a Senegalese woman and an Italian man, we discussed about immigration. Afterwards we did some meetings with a Senegalese boy who taught us some African dances and after we learned the coreography for the final event in the centre of Turin. The final event

Parlez vous global

What is “Parlez vous global” ? It involves 7 countries: ➔ In Europe: Austria, France, Romania ➔ In Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Senegal Site: 12&soft=side=area

What have we done with the “Parlez vous global” project? ➔ Reading from different texts and sites; ➔ Searching the net; ➔ Inventing stories; ➔ Taking photos and making videos; ➔ Finding the keywords connected to immigration ; ➔ Looking for images representing the migrants’ stories and feelings; ➔ Preparing questionnaires and doing interviews to foreign students in our school, about personal stories and travelling, like: -Where are you from? -How did you travel? -Did you know Italian people before coming?, etc….

Here is a list of the keywords connected to immigration we wrote together after discussion: ➔ Hope ➔ Fear ➔ Long travelling ➔ Diseases ➔ Work ➔ War ➔ Death ➔ Objectives ➔ Delinquency

What are we going to do? ➔ Sharing results and products with young people from the other countries. ➔ Meeting students and teachers from other involved schools.
