Angel voices, ever singing Round thy throne of light, Angel harps, for ever ringing, Rest not day nor night; Thousands only live to bless thee, And confess.

WEEK 2 M – MOVING THE KING’S RESIDENCE

WEEK 2 M – Moving the king’s residence Thou didst leave thy throne Talk to the children about their week and pray about any concerns. Take up offerings Tell the story about the preparations that are involved at both ends when earthly kings move from one palace to another or pay Royal Visits to other countries Announcements Media Press releases, Security Raising the Royal standard to show that the king is in residence Compare and Contrast this with the coming to Earth of Jesus Heaven’s end was fully prepared since the foundation of the world Announcements by prophets choirs of angels, etc But Earth was not ready to receive the King of Kings – there was not even a place in the Inn Read the second part of the Christmas story - the birth of Jesus Do the colouring/craft activities Make a circle and pray for the week ahead

Thou didst leave thy throne and thy kingly crown, when thou camest to earth for me; but in Bethlehem's home was there found no room for thy holy nativity. Refrain: O come to my heart, Lord Jesus, there is room in my heart for thee. Heaven's arches rang when the angels sang, proclaiming thy royal degree; but of lowly birth didst thou come to earth, and in great humility. Refrain The foxes found rest, and the birds their nest in the shade of the forest tree; but thy couch was the sod, O thou Son of God, in the deserts of Galilee. Refrain Thou camest, O Lord, with the living word that should set thy children free; but with mocking scorn and with crown of thorn, they bore thee to Calvary. Refrain When the heavens shall ring, and the angels sing, at thy coming to victory, let thy voice call me home, saying "Yet there is room, there is room at my side for thee." Refrain Words: Emily Elizabeth Steele Elliott, 1864
