progresstracker.org.uk Progress Tracker Progress Tracker was developed in Suffolk LA. It is designed to Support good assessment practice in schools Make the teacher’s job easy Provide school leaders with useful analyses.

progresstracker.org.uk Progress Tracker – our philosophy Progress Tracker is designed to Work with your existing SIMS MIS, so that data is kept safe. Give back to teachers ownership of the data. Allow teachers to see the whole school picture, not just their part in it. Provide school leaders with useful analyses, not pretty colours.

progresstracker.org.uk Progress Tracker – components Use SIMS to manage pupils, groups and NC assessments and as the backup store for pupil assessments. Use Progress Tracker for teachers to record NC assessments. Provide instant feedback through charts and printouts to help teachers monitor each child’s progress. Use Progress Tracker Review Module to provide managers with cohort and pupil group analyses for review and evaluation.

progresstracker.org.uk Teacher Each term Accurate and up to date information taken from SIMS Teachers will see the full assessment history for every pupil across all subjects Teachers record assessments in Progress Tracker and view pupil progress charts and printouts All data exported back to SIMS at end of term Admin/SIMS

progresstracker.org.uk Reviewing the data At end of term Up to date pupil and assessment history sent from SIMS to SLT SIMS can also provide other information, such as gender, DOB, term of entry, ethnicity, SEN, etc. SLT review pupil, cohort and group progress using features available in the Progress Tracker Review Module (some of these features are now available in the teacher module. progresstracker.org.uk Teachers’ Module details Each term teachers see a full assessment history for all pupils – historic data is protected from accidental changes Teachers record assessments for their pupils each term in Progress Tracker. School will decide which ATs are collected. Progress Tracker provides charts and printouts to help teachers monitor each child’s progress. Teacher

progresstracker.org.uk Josh is in year 5. His termly Reading (En2) progress is visible to his teacher from the first time anyone assessed Josh. The dotted lines join the KS1 TA with the Fischer B and D estimates for KS2 Reading. This gives the teacher a “Track line” for comparison

progresstracker.org.uk Soft Curriculum - Josh’s progress can also be plotted against school- defined criteria. The staff together agrees what would be useful to assess (e.g. wellbeing, disposition, attitude, attendance) and their interpretation criteria for the values in the range 1 to 5. Has Josh’s level of engagement affected his progress? Engagement

progresstracker.org.uk How is Josh doing against current expectation? His maths is about one sublevel (2 points) above.

progresstracker.org.uk Instant printout showing how pupils have moved on in Reading between any 2 chosen points in time. Have the top reading group changed since last year? Why are there pupils still stuck on level 3B? National Expectation in the selected term is shown by >Above =At ! Close, needing attention <Below

progresstracker.org.uk Table showing where pupils stand in relation to national expectation in any particular term. The intervention group is clearly listed.

progresstracker.org.uk Printout showing how far pupils have moved on in Reading between any 2 chosen points in time.

progresstracker.org.uk Comparison against Fischer estimates for this term. James is 3 sublevels above expectation – is he the highest flyer in this class?

progresstracker.org.uk The annual review printout offers a useful history of pupils’ attainment and progress and comparison against Fischer estimates for the selected term in any chosen subject.

progresstracker.org.uk The annual review printout offers a useful history of pupils’ attainment and progress and comparison against Fischer estimates for the selected term in any chosen subject. Another printout produces the same information by pupil.

progresstracker.org.uk All assessments can be copied to Excel to enable you to create your own analyses. This workbook has tabs for each AT both as NC level and as points scores. Another workbook is available where the tabs cover attainment by term.

progresstracker.org.uk Review Module Managers pick up the full pupil assessment history for all pupils to date, including a range of other contextual data from SIMS that enables deeper analysis of performance. Pupil, group and cohort level analyses of both attainment and progress broken down by gender, DOB, term of entry, ethnicity, SEN, etc. enable managers to evaluate, review and plan ahead. Analyses are available as printouts and as interactive graphs. These features are available in the teacher module for analysis next term when teachers can see the full picture from the previous term. Review

progresstracker.org.uk The review tables and charts provide analyses showing percentages of pupils in the selected groups. You can choose to view % at actual points or % achieving each point or higher. Breakdown of levels achieved by year 5 at end of year 4. Average points scores are shown for each AT. Is the whole curriculum being evenly addressed? Analyses for combined reading and writing, mathematics and reading, writing and mathematics are produced as well. What can you say about achievers of level 3 in reading and writing?

progresstracker.org.uk Printouts can be saved as Adobe PDF files.

progresstracker.org.uk You can choose to print the analysis using cumulative counts, e.g. % at level n and above.

progresstracker.org.uk Analyses can be produced in MS Excel.

progresstracker.org.uk Percentages of pupils moving on by sublevels over time.

progresstracker.org.uk Select a grouping (the list is selected when you create marksheets in SIMS and print the table again… Percentages of pupils moving on by sublevels over time. Progress Tracker also allows you to create your own pupil groups for tracking – targeted pupils, booster or intervention groups are all handled.

Look at whole school progress (all relevant pupils included. This can also be broken down by groups to give whole school pictures.

progresstracker.org.uk Information can also be graphed. This will allow you to investigate and research more effectively as all information is to hand. By scrolling through the drop down boxes you can view information on any combination of factors This facility is available for researching both attainment and progress.

progresstracker.org.uk Secure data transfer CTF does not hold termly assessments Progress Tracker can create a single securely encrypted data file to send to all receiving schools Receiving schools can only pick up pupils who are already in their SIMS system

progresstracker.org.uk The web site progresstracker.org.uk contains a wealth of information, including latest news and a blog that answers a range of questions
