The VRAP offers 12 months of training assistance to Veterans who: Are at least 35 but no more than 60 years old Are unemployed on the date of application Received an other than dishonorable discharge Are not be eligible for any other VA education benefit program (e.g.: the Post-9/11 GI Bill, Montgomery GI Bill, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Assistance) Are not in receipt of VA compensation due to unemployability Are not enrolled in a federal or state job training program Veterans Retraining Assistance Program, VRAP

Programs must meet the following criteria to qualify for VRAP benefits: Be offered by a community college or technical school (not a 4- year school) Lead to an Associates Degree or Certificate Train the Veteran for a high demand occupation Entitlement is treated just like Chapter 30, must verify attendance monthly. Veterans Retraining Assistance Program, VRAP

VRAP specifics Applications must be submitted online. No paper applications. Student must choose program carefully. If they dont like program, teachers, or school and want to switch, they risk VA denying the change. Certificate of Eligibility (COE) must match enrollment certification submitted by school. All prior credit must be evaluated, regardless of time frame or where taken (just like any other VA student).

VRAP specifics VRAP payments are paid to individual student, not school. Student responsible for paying school. Student is paid VRAP only when considered full- time for VA purposes. Student may take classes when not full-time for VA purposes, but student wont receive VRAP monies. Courses must be taken that satisfies graduation requirements, students cant dabble.
