Entering and Editing Text Click the Outline tab (2002) or switch to any view with the outline Select words as you would in Word Select lines as you would paragraphs or click the slide icon and bullets Drag and drop to rearrange slides and points Tab to indent, Shift+Tab or outdent

Inserting Objects Choose Insert then choose the type of object from the menu, or Change to a slide layout that has a placeholder for the object, or Copy the object in its native format, then paste or paste special in PowerPoint
Adding Transitions Switch to Slide Sorter view Select the slide(s) PowerPoint 2002: click the Transition button, then choose a transition in the task pane PowerPoint 2000/97: choose a transition from the Transition drop down list on the toolbar
Adding Animation In PowerPoint 2002: choose the Slide Design – Animation Schemes task pane In PowerPoint 2000/97: switch to Slide view. Choose Slide Show > Animation
Rehearsing Timings Choose Slide Show > Rehearse Timings Click through each animation and transition When finished, click Yes to save the timings
Showing the Presentation To show the presentation “live”: 1. Choose Slide Show > Setup Show 2. Choose Presented by a Speaker 3. Set Advance Slides to Manually so you can click through each transition and animation. Click OK 4. Choose Slide Show > View Show to start presentation
Showing the Presentation To use the presentation in a kiosk: 1. Choose Slide Show > Setup Show to open the dialog box 2. Choose Browsed in a Kiosk 3. Set Advance Slides to Use Timings. Click OK 4. Choose Slide Show > View Show to start the presentation
