The Elements Of Expressive Writing
Presentation transcript:

 What does it mean to suffer from the feeling of alienation or to feel alienated from others?  What causes this feeling?  What helps a person deal with this feeling?

Perspective One of the elements of this next unit is going to be our ability to put ourselves in the various characters’ shoes that we encounter.

 Select a pair of shoes to step into: you are going to be “writing” in this person’s shoes and expressing his/her feelings of alienation  Using ONE of the following pair of shoes as inspiration, brainstorm the following  Character’s Name  Age  Family Situation  Event causing feelings of alienation  Resulting feelings/thoughts  Any additional, relevant information

Perspective NOW that you have developed a FICTIONAL character, write a blog or diary entry about the day in the life of your FICTIONAL character Blog/Diary entry must be at least three paragraphs Make sure to: Write in 1 st person as your FICTIONAL character Any relevant background information Event/Reason why s/he might feel alienated How s/he feels about his/her situation
