I’ve Changed My Mind Lets Talk About Sex Maybe! People recovering from a severe acquired brain injury have a combination of problems including behavioural, social, emotional, physical and functional difficulties. Severity and complexity of these injuries may prevent people living safe, fulfilling lives independently. Extract from Christchurch Court’s contribution to The Parliamentary Yearbook 2009 “I've changed my mind” is a series of one day events concerned with the adjustments acquired brain injured adults are challenged with on a day to day basis when re-entering society and having to adapt to this 'new life'. Day one focuses on relationships. Participants will learn about:- Identifying the challenges people with acquired brain injury, their family and carers face when making new relationships Understanding legal and ethical issues, unravelling some myths Sexuality in a care environment - how and when not to turn a blind eye Fun and leisure - Essential goals of rehabilitation?
