Social Studies Focus- North Carolina Artsteach Grant

Math 1 st Quarter: Place Value, algebra (variables, balancing, making generalizations). 1 st Quarter: Place Value, algebra (variables, balancing, making generalizations). 2 nd Quarter: Multiplication and division, order of operations. 2 nd Quarter: Multiplication and division, order of operations. 3 rd Quarter: Fractions and decimals, area and perimeter, geometry. 4 th Quarter: Probability, proportions, review.

Literacy- Imagine It  Unit theme: Risks and Consequences.  5 different genres covered  Comprehension strategies.  Comprehension skills.  Word structure: Language arts skills and vocabulary.

Writing- Writers Workshop  Traits of good writing.  Writing Process  Use Varies strategies to draw out the best stories from our students’ memories.  State test- March.
